Addison went to the doctor this morning for her 9 month checkup! We went right during her morning nap time, so it was bad scheduling on my part. She was tired, and crabby, and impatient.
She only gained a few ounces in the last 2 months, but is still above average according to 'the curve'.
Weight: 18.8 pounds
Height: 29 inches
She got her last HepB and her first of 2 flu shots. She also got her finger poked for Hemoglobin and to check her iron. Her Hgb was good, and we have to wait a couple days for the results of her iron.
They did the shots first, both in her left thigh...and she started screaming before they even poked her because she DOES NOT like laying down, let along being held down by two adults. So there were lots of tears....and then I had to hold her down on my lap so they could poke her fingertip and then squeeze a tube of blood out of her. Luckily because she was so worked up and screaming, her blood was really pumping and she bled like crazy!
She took a nice long afternoon nap! I wish I could have as well, but I had cupcakes and cookies to decorate for a coffee tonight.
Tomorrow Nick has the morning off so we need to figure out with we are going to do with the 2nd bathroom. The plumber is coming Saturday morning!!!

Finally Tooth #3...Pineapple & Tile
I let Addison suck on some fresh pineapple today. I had to really get a good hold on it though because she nearly sucked it right out of my hand! I think it's pretty safe to say that she likes it!
This morning her top left tooth finally broke through the gums. She has been working on this one for weeks!!! So now we have 3 teeth! I got Nick to snag a quick picture today at lunch!
I washed down the tile in the bathroom tonight with vinegar and water to clean up the grout! Our tile guy came over last night and put the grout down. It only took a couple hours!
We are hoping to get the plumber back out here this weekend to put the new fixtures in, move the sink plumbing over so we can hook up the vanity/sink...and maybe get started on the other bathroom! We'll keep you posted! Tomorrow Addison has her 9 month check up....there will be shots.

Weekend Update...Daddy's Helpers, Etc...
Our neighbor got a lot of mudding and taping done in the garage. Nick thinks he can have it all done in one more good day! Nick finished putting up the drywall in the bathroom, since out tile guy was unable to make it over this afternoon. He had to take his little boy to the ER to get stitches. He said he'd try to make it over Monday after work to grout the bathroom!
Meanwhile, Nick realized the vanity won't fit the plumbing, so our plumber will have to come back to move the plumbing for the sink over a few inches. Our old vanity had a sink that was off center. The new one is centered and so the plumbing coming from the wall is over too far and hits the drawers on the new vanity. Argh!
On a good note, Nick was able to finish up one whole side of vent holes... 20 to go.
Today was a big work day for everyone! Trevor helped Daddy screw several screws in a board in the garage...
McKenzie mowed the yard....while it rained. (I don't think you can see the rain in the picture, though) It was hot and sunny when she started, then out of nowhere, it just came down! Luckily she only had a couple rounds left.
But it's not All Work and No Play here.... when our work was done, we jumped in the pool. Addison even took her first dip in the pool with Mommy! She took a little while to get used to it...the accidental splashes in the face by her siblings didn't help, but eventually she got used to it and had fun splashing, and rolling the ball back and forth with Trevor.
Nick grilled some Iowa Pork Chops for supper and we ate out on the lanai... check out the beautiful sunset we got to enjoy as we ate!

Bathroom Tile
Just after 2PM yesterday, our tile was all placed! Here are some pictures of the bathroom. He is coming back this afternoon to grout.
Nick took the kids to Lowe's last night during my Silpada party and got all the tile for the other bathroom. We hope to get that one started as soon as this one is complete!
Today Nick is going to drill some more vent holes, and our neighbor is here now mudding and taping the garage!

Bathroom Update
Our tile guy came this morning and has been working at lightening speed. He started out helping Nick finish up the drywall and getting a few last minute prep work done.
Here is what we have completed up to the lunch break:
He's now finishing up the last wall and then he'll do the floor tiles! More pictures to come later! I'm having a Silpada Jewelry party tonight, so it has been fun trying to clean the house while these guys keep coming in and out....but I'm not complaining! I am so excited to be getting the bathroom remodeled!

Uncle Danny & Bathroom Update
Today was my brother and sister-in-law's last day in Hawaii. They came over in the afternoon to hang out with us before heading to the airport tonight. Addison really loves him. She mostly loves his sunglasses, though. But she usually had no problem going to him.
Trevor will really miss his Uncle Danny, and having another playmate around. He was in a near panic when they went to Maui for a few days. Today they had fun building things with dominoes!
We took them out to eat at our favorite Italian restaurant, Zia's, here in Kaneohe. Then I took them on to the airport.
Now, for the bathroom.
Last night as Nick was preparing the bathroom for the plumber, McKenzie was in her bathroom taking a shower, which is just on the other side of the plumbing you see in the picture. Nick noticed that water suddenly started to leak pretty heavily when she ran the bath water. So now, not only is the main bathroom out of commission, the bath/shower in the other bathroom is now OUT OF ORDER until we can get that bathroom remodeled. It would be pointless to fix it now, as we are changing that bath into a shower.
Anyways, the plumber was here all morning and into the afternoon putting in the new tub and fixtures in the main bathroom. Now, it's all ready for the tile guy to come tomorrow.
Well, as soon as Nick gets the rest of the paperless drywall up. He worked on it tonight until 10PM and figured he should stop, before the neighbors start complaining about the noise of the saw and drill. Below is what Nick got done tonight. He will have to finish it up first thing in the morning.

Tuberose
My tube rose finally bloomed a week ago or so. I just haven't taken the time to post it! I love how they smell. In the evening, the whole entry way smells wonderful! The blooms don't last as long as I'd like them to....which would be FOREVER!
