Our New House Guest

McKenzie is home from school today. Her sore throat has gotten the best of her. I took her to the doctor, but he seems to think it's just a virus. They took a strep culture, so we'll see if that turns up positive. Everyone else is healthy and ready for Daddy to arrive home this evening! We will be going to the airport to pick him up! We are all very excited!

Addison has slept through the night two nights in a row...of course, she decides to start that about the time Nick is coming home. He said this morning, when I talked to him while he waited for his plane in Phoenix, that "Addison is smart, she knows that Daddy is coming home, and she is going to sleep all night from now on!" Whatever...I'm just happy to get more than 3 hours of uninterupted sleep! The last two nights I've gotten more like 6! Woo Hoo! The joys of motherhood!

We received a new house guest this morning. Welcome Rainbow! She will be staying with us for the next two weeks while her owners go on pre-deplyment leave. McKenzie and Trevor are thrilled to have a new pet in the house. Trevor has been counting down the days until her arrival. He is at school and is anxious to come home to 'his' bunny.

Molly was also thrilled to have a new friend....too bad the bunny wants NOTHING to do with her. Give them time.

In the meantime, Molly stands at the screen door, looking out at the bunny kennel, waiting for me to let her out so she can play with Rainbow.
I hope they learn to get along, because Molly will be staying at Rainbow's house when WE come back to Iowa for our pre-deployment leave. Even trade? We'll see. Molly is sometimes a handful! I know... hard to believe, but it's true!
