Addi in the Window

Nick was outside working (of course) this weekend so I sat Addison in the chair by the window to watch him. She was absolutely fascinated! She would see him walk past the window and she would practically launch herself at the window with excitement! So I had to back up and take the picture as fast as I could so she wouldn't launch herself through the glass!

I even ran outside (while Nick came in to stand gaurd) to show what she looked like on the outside...
After 2 months of Nick being gone, my poor mulchless flower bed got some much needed mulch FINALLY! I had every intention to load up the sexy van with a trash can and fill it up with mulch and complete it myself while Nick was gone, but my kids had other ideas for me. It's a good thing we did it first thing in the morning, because as you can see, it rained soon after!

Hale Koa Pool

After church today we decided to pack up and go over to Waikiki to the Hale Koa pool. That is the military hotel on the beach that has a pool open to all military. It was our first time over there in our 4 1/2 years on island. Sad, I know. A lot of our friends have been over there, and have had the best time, so we decided to check it out!

Of course we had to eat first... while Addison napped......Then it was off to the pool...
Nick got Trevor in with little persuasion...and he even got pretty brave through out the afternoon. I had to sneak the pictures though because he is not too happy with me when I whip out the camera..."I SAID NO PICTURES MOMMY!"
The kids had a blast with Nick...Addison and I stayed poolside and gossiped about all the people walking by and whether they SHOULD or SHOULD NOT have been wearing the swimsuits they were wearing....and there where A LOT of SHOULD NOT's!
She did take a quick dip in the pool with daddy as seen above....as you can see she was thrilled.
Smile with Mommy! (or not)
Warming up after a dip in the pool with daddy!
Over all, it was a fun trip! The kids wore themselves out and slept all the way home. Now, daddy is taking his turn and napping in the chair.

Our New Blog!

So I know I haven't been the best at updating our website lately...ok, I know, it's been months!!! I started blogging a while a go and decided that it was much easier to create a blog for our family and update the blog than it was our old webpage through yahoo. SO....this is where I will be updating you all on events, photos, happenings, etc, etc.

Feel free to send this link on to anyone you think might be interested!

For the first entry of Turner Mountain West, I'll say this:

Nick returned home this Thursday from a 2 month mini deployment to Yuma, Arizona where he went through, and graduated from WTI (Weapons & Tactics Instructor) School. For a quick and easy relatable comaprison, it's the TOP GUN for helicopter pilots. So he was very happy to be chosen for the training! It was a long and stressful road (for all of us), but we are ALL happy that it's over!!!!
Oh yes, and extremely proud too!

Nick is the 3rd from the right in the bottom row.
Those knealing are new WTI's and the men standing behind were the instructors.

Nick flew in Thursday afternoon and since the squadron worked last Sunday, they all had Friday off, so Nick was blessed with not having to go right back to work. He got up early and made McKenzie breakfast before school, and then he and Trevor ran to get me some long needed mulch for the flower garden we did by the garage right before he left. I had intended to go get the mulch myself, but with 3 little ones at home, that project was put on the back burner....the way far back burner! And of course Trevor was glad to be his little helper!

Then it was yard work time, which I'm sure my neighbor was happy about. He is very particular about his yard, so having OUR yard go all 2 months without one single mow probably bothered him a lot...sorry! Luckily, just as Nick finished trimming and cutting down some overgrown coconut tree leaves, the rain started....and didn't stop the rest of the day. Good thing we did the yard work in the morning. We? oops, i mean Nick. And I'd like to add it was all his idea to get working, I would have been just fine with him hanging out and relaxing for a day or two...but if you know much about Nick, he can't sit still for very long at all.

McKenzie and Nick will be going on a school fieldtrip to the Big Island of Hawaii the middle of next month. She will be finishing up the fourth grade soon after. Oh my gosh, that kills me to say that! Next up...(gulp!) 5th grade!

Trevor is signed up for pre-school starting in July (another gulp!) and he will go Monday-Friday but just in the mornings. Nick was afraid that would be too much for him. I think he'll do just fine...Nick however is having separation anxiety issues, and wants to know if maybe it's too soon. TRUST ME....it's not too soon!

Addison is now 4 1/2 months old! Where has the time gone! She just found her feet and loves gnawing on her fingers. I think teeth are in her near future the way she is chewing on things. She is giggling more often and smiles all the time! Now, if I can just get her to be more independant and play on the floor for longer than 5 minutes so that the house can get some one on one time. But hey, she's only this little once, right? We have a Ugly Angel playgroup every other week with the other babies in the squadron. So far, Addison hasn't been much of the social butterfly, and it goes back to the not letting mommy put her down 'phase' (i hope) that she is going through.

As for me, I am actually going to get to go to work tomorrow night at the care center. I'm looking forward to getting out of the house for a few hours. My baking is pretty steady and that is just how I like it. And I will do my best to update this often with pictures and upcoming attractions from Turner Mountain West! And I promise the entries won't ALL be this long. I just had to bring you all up to speed!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Aloha from Turner Mountain West!
