Cookies For Daddy

We are getting our next package ready to be shipped out to Nick tomorrow. Since it's Valentine's Day next week, we made up some sugar cookies. The kids all helped out in some way or another.

Trevor is always happy to help in each process. He helped roll out the the dough and insisted he cut all the hearts out. He made all the little ones for Daddy and made a few big ones for himself. I did eventually talk him into sending a few big ones to Daddy as well.

Nick Update

I haven't gotten any phone calls since the last update, but I have been getting brief emails. Nick has been doing a lot of flying this week!

He finally received my first package and was thrilled that I included some homemade cookies. I'll be sending another big Valentine package tomorrow!

He said he keeps thinking of new items he could use, but forgets what they are by the time he gets a chance to email me. I told him he needs to keep a little notepad in his flightsuit and jot things down the moment he thinks of them!

So I'll try to update the list to the left as he gives me new ideas! He is finally settled in his 'can' and is enjoying having his own space, which he shares with a friend who has the opposite schedule.

Dinner With Friends

I have been without a computer since yesterday. I finally got around to transferring my 1,000's of pictures (and I'm not even kidding) from my old computer to my new one! It required connecting the two computers with a cable and transferring the pictures over. I started at 10am yesterday, and it went through the night last night and finally finished by the morning! All the while, I could not use either computer!

So, a little catch up...

Tuesday night, my friend from back home that I grew up with came over with her family for supper. I made chicken lasagna, mozzarella bread, salad and of course some goodies! We had a great time visiting and the kids had a blast playing together.

The girls were so funny. They didn't play too much 'together' but played a lot next to each other.

This picture makes me think of Kira and I when we were their age. I have tons of pics of the two of us together from when we were days old! I just think our girls look so much like we did! I just don't know where the old pictures are right now to compare!

Baby Update

I had my 14 week appointment this morning. I've only gained a couple pounds this trimester. I am measuring right on, and the heartbeat was running around the 150's.

My next appointment is in 4 weeks, along with the big ultrasound. I'm still debating on finding out the gender! Nick really wants to find out, but I am leaning more towards another surprise!

I have a few ideas in mind, though! So you all may just have to wait and see....maybe a lot longer than you'd like!!! *evil laugh*

Tea Party/ Surprise Baby Shower

One of the girlies in our squadron is due any day to have a baby. We were also "due" for a spouses coffee. So, we set up a tea party, but it was really a surprise baby shower for Heather! It was beautifully decorated by a friend of the squadron, and Heather was surprised!

Trevor stayed at my friend Gina's and played with is buddy Helen. They are the best of buds and had a ball jumping on their trampoline.

Ko Olina Resort

We packed up the kids today and headed over to the Ko Olina Resorts to meet a friend of mine from back home and her family! Her husband has been here for a few weeks for work, so she decided to fly out with her 2 kids and spend a week out here as well! They are staying at a fabulous condo just walking distance from the beach. Jack (3) and Trevor held hands as we walked. It was so funny to listen to their conversations!

Even after living in Hawaii for over 5 years now, I was blown away by the BEAUTIFUL beaches they had there. We walked around to the next cove over...which was just as gorgeous as this one!

We packed a picnic lunch and ate in the shade before going down in the water.

We had a little visitor, a baby mongoose, who wasn't very shy. McKenzie threw it a piece of bread and I was shocked at how close it came to us all! Addison went absolutely BONKERS!!!

My friend had taken the kids down to this beach before, so Jack was excited to show Trevor around. Surprisingly, Trevor ran right into the water and walked around the rocks without missing a beat!

Another shocker was that Addison ran right to the water as well! And then she never left it! She is part fish, I believe!

Poor McKenzie was bummed that she didn't have a friend her age, so she pouted for a few minutes, but realized she should make the most of it, and got over it real fast. She pulled the boys around on the boogie boards, and found a sea cucumber, laid out with Meridith, and ended up having a pretty good time!

Trevor even got brave and took the board out in the water and swam it in to shore.

If I tried to get Addison to play in the sand, she would walk her way back to the water.

We had so much fun. I can't wait to go back again and enjoy the beaches there! It was so secluded and I couldn't believe how bare the beaches were. There were hardly any other people there! It was hard to get the kids to leave, but it was late afternoon, we were turning into tomatoes, and we all needed a nap!

Lt. Dan Band at Marine Corps Base Hawaii

The Lt. Dan Band came to Hawaii to play at some of the military bases as part of their USO tour. They were here in 2007 but we didn't go to that one. I met Alaina and Julie at the concert and we showed up about 20 minutes beforehand....and would you beleive we found a nice open area in the second row!?!?! It was so great!

Gary Sinase didn't do any lead singing, but he totally rocked on the bass guitar!

Alaina LOVES Gary Sinase. I made her a sign to hold up that says "MARRY ME GARY" but I forgot it at home....(just kidding) Her only goal that night was to touch him.

We made eye contact several times! It was really cool! Alaina also had her 'moment' with him where their eyes met and they exchanged smiles... Her exaggerated version (tee hee) of the story can be found on her blog I'm sure in the next day or so....
