Traveler Palms Will Travel

Today on our first day of the weekend, we started off by traveling up and over to Millilani to dig up some Traveler Palms we found on craigslist.com!
Yes, another great deal on craigslist.com

The guy had already started digging them up for us by the time we got there, so it only took a few minutes for Nick to finish up the digging and load them up in the truck!

As soon as we got home, we (meaning Nick, mostly) grabbed our shovels and started digging these new Traveler Palms some new homes. We thought they'd be great along the fence between our neighbor. His yard is too perfect, and we don't want to look at it anymore! (Just kidding... well, sort of!)

Then we had this tree shown below that has sprouted some offspring beside it, so I asked Nick if he would dig them up and spread them along the front side of the neighbors fence....

HERE IS BEFORE...

AND AFTER...

There are now a total of 4 little trees along our front side fence. We'll see if they grow now! I promised to water them often!
Oh, also accomplished today was the frame for the mirror for the upstairs bathroom. We are hoping to get some painting done up there tomorrow, so check back for pictures tomorrow!

At The Car Wash...

McKenzie and her neighborhood friends wanted to wash the cars for money... so Nick told them that if they washed the van and the truck, he'd go get them water balloons and water guns. Amazing what kids will work for...
But they did a great job! And as I'm typing this up, I can hear them screaming and water balloons busting!
Here is Addison outside in her walker watching Daddy work!

Kids Say The Darndest Things...

Trevor and I were sitting in the office when the wind blew in the windows and gave me goosebumps...yes, goosebumps are possible in Hawaii. Trevor saw my arms and said..."Oh mommy, your skin is all bumpy!" I told him they were goose bumps. "Goosebumps? Okay." Then he pointed to my arms and said, "Mommy, what are those little things..." I said, those are freckles!

"FARKLES???"

No, freckles.

"FARKLES???"

No, FRE-CKLES

"OH, FARKLES!!!"

No matter how many times I tried to correct him, he just kept saying Farkles...and it was the funnies thing.... we were giggling so loud, I was afraid we were going to wake Nick up.

Mmm Mmm Good!

Addison had cereal today for the (2nd) time! The first attempt was weeks ago in hopes it would help her to sleep through the night..but she was NOT crazy about the texture then...

This time however, she couldn't get enough! She scarfed down the first couple tablespoons I made...and was looking at me like a hungry baby bird with her mouth open when it was gone like "aaaaaahhhhh....I want more!"
So I quick made a little more....GONE....and then again...so after the third round, I think she had her fill. She was a little messy at first, but we figured out a manuever that helped keep most of it in her mouth!
Mmmm....Licking her lips!
Here is a picture Nick took yesterday on his flight to the Big Island with a fleet of 4 helicopters. They flew right by the area where the lava from the active volcano has been seeping into the ocean, causing all kinds of smoke or "VOG" (volcanic fog).
I think Nick was pretty proud of this shot!
I was impressed!

This was yesterday before Nick went into work. He and Addison were just hangin out on the couch. She's still in her jammies.

She is really into standing up!
Happy girl! She is sitting better and better each day!

Three days til the Big Island trip! McKenzie is SO excited! Monday will be an early morning for everyone! They have to be up EARLY EARLY EARLY!
Trevor has been on a "I'm Going To Grandma's" kick. Each day he tells me with the biggest smile and excitement "MOMMY!!!! We are going to my grandma's house today!!!!" But I have to remind him it will be a few weeks before we will actually go. Poor thing gets so upset with me! And there is NO winning with him.

I wish I could post more pictures of him on here, but he is NOT very photogenic lately. The only pics I get of him lately are him running away from the camera, or mean faces saying "I SAID NO PICTURES!"
McKenzie is always off playing with the neighborhood friends as soon as her homework is done, so she is never around for photos either.
Nick has duty through the night tonight, so he'll sleep most of the morning tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll have another weekend warrior update before the weekend is over!

Won't You Be My Neighbor?

The empty lot next to our house is finally up for sale! It's official with a FOR SALE sign in the yard and everything. Trevor noticed the realtor in the lot the other day taking pictures and tattled on her. "Mommy there is a lady in the yard!!!"

Excited about the possible progress of selling the lot, I ran and told Nick, who was working on our upstairs bathroom.

Nick ran down and chatted with the realtor before she left. She hopes to get it sold fairly quickly! Nick can't wait! His first visit with the new owners I'm sure will be, "so what are you planning to put up in place of that awful rock wall?!"

So...for those of you who want to live next to the Turner's (don't every one jump at once) it will only cost you: $577,000
There aren't any pictures listed as of today, but there should be soon!
