Addison is 5 Months old!!!

Today Addison turned 5 months old!!!!
The picture below was this morning when I went to get her out of bed...
She is usually a very happy girl in the morning...as you can see by the wide mouth smile! Isn't that a wonderful sight to wake up to? Even at 4am it's usually just as cute!!!
Addison got her first ever May Day package from Grandma "Bob" yesterday! She sent the cutest little cupcake outfit for her to wear! And it was just the right size....so we just HAD to wear it today on our special 5 month birthday!
Mommy was so excited about the cupcakes!

Addison has really been getting stronger and does better about sitting up. She still needs some assistance, but I was able to snap this picture of her before he started leaning forward...and eventually leaned so far forward she could have kissed the rug.

This afternoon I got a call from a fellow Ugly Spouse who lives up the street from us. Both our husbands were flying late tonight, so we decided to have a 'community supper'. So I called up my friend Sherree who's husband is off training now and had her bring her two kids as well.
We tried to get them both to smile at the same time....but that wasn't happening, so here's a pic of both of them smiling...in seperate pics! They looked so cute in their little pink jammies so of course we had to take a picture of that!
Addison is 5 months and Hannah is 7 months!

McKenzie's May Day Performance

I got it! I had to cut the dance into sections since the file was so large, so you'll have to view it in 3 seperate parts.
I am so excited to be able to finally upload these!

McKenzie is in the back row in a light green dress. She's the only blonde in the class, so she'll be easy to pick out!

ENJOY!
Make sure your volume is turned up!!

Here is Part 1 of 3 of McKenzie's May Day Dance

Part 2 of 3

And finally 3 of 3!

Rough Night

Addison was up ALL NIGHT last night. She took a little evening nap around 6 and then was wired for a while so she didn't get to sleep around 8 like she normally does. Once we finally got her to bed, I went soon after. Then it seemed like once I had been down for about 30 minutes, she got real fussy and wouldn't stay asleep.

She was starting to get a runny nose, so I wonder if she was having trouble breathing. I fed her, and she went back to sleep.....but not for long. And that continued all night long. I don't think she slept longer then an half an hour before she'd start fussing again.

Nick and I both took shifts but I don't think either of us slept until Nick took her downstairs around 4am so that I could sleep. I was near tears I was so tired. Then when he brought her back up around 7 to eat, I took her so Nick could take his turn to sleep....and he is still in bed...poor thing. And now Addison is taking a morning nap.

Luckily Nick doesn't have to go in until after lunch for a late flight tonight. So he can sleep all morning if he needs to!

Tonight is the parents meeting for the Big Island Trip Nick is chaperoning for McKenzie's entire 4th grade class. They leave next Monday and stay through Wednesday (May 12-14). They are both looking forward to it! I'll post more details next week while they are gone so we can keep track of what they will be doing.

Trevor will be starting Pre-School at the end of the summer (late July). I got him signed up at a church here in town just a few blocks from our house. He is really excited as he LOVES to watch Kenzie get on the bus each morning. I tried to tell him it will be a couple more years before he will be able to ride that bus, but he INSISTS that yes, he will be riding the bus at the end of the summer when HE starts school! So to save my energy, I just say "Okay, Trevor!"

Well, I'm off to get some things done if I can get Addison laid down....I'm getting good at positioning her so I can type...fold clothes...cook! I've got cupcakes to do for tonight too!

Addison's Story -VIDEO CLIP!!!!

YAY! I did it! I was playing around with McKenzie's digital camera and wondered if I just did a quick little video of Addison...even if it was a few seconds long, if I could upload it on here..and it looks like I can. I don't know what my limit is on how long the clips can be, but here is a little clip of Addison in her walker just now, telling me a little story!

So hopefully I can post more clips in the future (more lengthy ones)!!!

Weekend Warrior

This weekend Nick vowed to get some projects knocked out. So he started with finishing the flooring on the steps and landing going up to the new bedroom. CHECK!
Then it was on to the railing which until today had been the deadly drop off in mommy and daddy's room. The kids knew all too well not to go near that edge, or it would result in a tragic death. Nick got this used railing from a guy on craigslist.com for a great deal...so with a few tweaks, some cuts on the table saw, and a few parts from Lowe's...
oh yeah...and a photo op with Addison while Daddy worked...
"My Daddy May Be Ugly But I'm A Cutie"
This project is done! CHECK!
Well, at least until I can get to them with a paint brush! But that will have to wait til another day... awww doesn't he look proud!

E Lei I Ke Aloha O Ka ‘Olelo

McKenzie had a May Day Program at her school this morning.
May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii!

E Lei I Ke Aloha O Ka ‘Olelo
(Let us Embrace the Love of our Languages)

Each class did a special dance or hula.
McKenzie's 4th grade class did a hula with the Hawaiian Puili Bamboo Rattle Sticks

She did a really great job! I tried to upload the video but it's not working at this time...
I'll keep trying to upload it!

The 6th graders did the Electric Slide (line dance) to the song "I Will Survive". I had to laugh the whole time because I always think of drag queens when I hear this song. Seems to be there favorite song to lip sing to. But anyways, they had fun with it, and it was so entertaining.

The preschoolers did a silly dance to "Surfin' USA"
The Kindergarten did an adorable hula
And the other classes did chants and hula as well.

All the students wore Hawaiian dresses or shirts. There were even 6th graders dressed up to represent princesses and kahili bearers for each Hawaiian Island. Each dressed in different colors with different shells or flowers depending on which island they were from. It was so neat to see these young kids take so much pride in their heritage.

After the program McKenzie was able to leave the school with us, so it was a very short day for her!

Tonight we will be having the Heikens over for supper. They are leaving the island at the end of this month and headed to HMX in Quantico, VA. The kids and I are making some fun brownies for dessert! Yumm-0!

Playgroup at Wyatt's

This morning we had our 'every other week' playgroup at Wyatt's house! We had a new gal join us from one of our sister squadrons so it was nice to meet a new spouse and her 9 month old son! That made for a lot of babbling this morning...

Pictured above is Wyatt Attwood, Addison & Lil' Richie Matyskiela

Addison did much better this week about being a team player. She sat in the chair a while and then even laid on the blanket with the others and joined in on all the binky snatching, kicking, and grabbing!

Here is our handsome host, Wyatt, who bailed on us midway through the morning for a nap! So we weren't able to get a group shot today. Hopefully next time around!

Overall it was a great morning. I think Addison is becoming more aware of her surroundings and wanting to participate a little more! Thank goodness...Mommy's arms are really needing a break!
