We Are Packed Out!

Last night we all stayed at the Lodge on base.  Our house was 1/2 packed and 1/2 a disaster, with no where to sleep.  And while we didn't get much sleep anyways trying to coordinate early bedtimes and homework in a two bed hotel room..... today was quite productive!

This morning we left bright and early to attend McKenzie's (annual) Citizen of the Month assembly. Her teacher chose her as a model student in her class for this month.  This year, they even started something new where the parents (much to our surprise) get to go up on stage with her and give her the "Citizen of the Month" dog tag!  Thank goodness I had brought something nice to wear instead of shorts and tshirt (moving out) clothes!

Then we were back at the house to tie up a few lose ends and wait for the movers.  Nick took apart some furniture and the movers showed up around 10:45AM.  They had the last crate closed up about 1:00PM and just as they closed it up, the truck with our "Aloha Loaner Furniture" pulled up!  We filled 12 crates + our sofa (and minus about 2 dozen marbles and a handful of game pieces that I picked up all over the house after the fact).  I think when we moved here from Florida, when it was just me, Nick and little 6 year old McKenzie, we had 9 crates? So really, 3 kids and a house later, we really only acquired 3 more crates of 'stuff'.... so take that as you wish!

I now sit in our very empty house with some not so comfortable aloha furniture.... at least with this, we can still live in our house until we leave the island!

Addison has a mattress in her own room so she can nap during the day...

The kids wanted to sleep upstairs...

And since we have no TV, Nick brought home a projector and hooked it up to his computer so the kids can watch movies...

Having our household goods packed up is a huge relief.  They only broke one glass (that I know of).  It just might be hitting me now that we will only be in Hawaii for a couple more weeks! Yikes!!!!

I know it has been insanely busy there for the past week or so but we are all anxiously awaiting and excited that you all will be back on the mainland!
